Booking, Payment & Lesson Policy
To ensure that lessons run smoothly and that every swimmer receives the attention and time they deserve, please take note of the following policies.
1. Bookings & Payment
- Lessons must be booked in advance.
- Payment is required to secure and confirm your booking.
- A booking is not considered confirmed until payment has been received.
- Payment details will be provided when your lesson or lesson package is arranged.
- Please ensure that payment is made by the agreed deadline.
- Lesson fees are non-transferable unless otherwise agreed.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
- A minimum of 12 hours' notice is required if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
- Cancellations made with less than 12 hours' notice may result in the lesson being forfeited.
- No-shows will result in the lesson being forfeited.
- Genuine emergencies or unexpected circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- If your child becomes unwell, please let me know as soon as possible rather than bringing them to the lesson.
- Frequent cancellations or rescheduling may affect future bookings.
3. Late Arrivals
- Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled lesson so that your swimmer is ready to start on time.
- If you arrive late, the lesson will still finish at the originally scheduled time.
- Late arrival will not result in additional lesson time.
4. Swimmer Requirements
- A swim cap is compulsory.
- Swimmers should arrive with appropriate swimwear, a towel and any other required swimming equipment.
- Please inform me in advance of any medical conditions, injuries, allergies, disabilities or other circumstances that may affect the swimmer's participation or safety.
- Swimmers who are unwell or have a contagious illness should not attend lessons.
5. Safety & Supervision
- Safety is my first priority during every lesson.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising children before and after their scheduled lesson.
- Children should not be left unattended at the pool before their lesson begins.
- Swimmers are expected to follow safety instructions and behave respectfully during lessons.
- Parents/guardians are asked to inform me of any relevant changes in the swimmer's health, confidence or ability.
I hold a Level 1 First Aid qualification and will take reasonable steps to respond to an injury or emergency during a lesson. However, swimming and pool activities involve inherent risks, and swimmers must follow all safety instructions and pool rules at all times. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that children understand and follow these instructions. To the extent permitted by law, I am not responsible for injuries, accidents or harm resulting from a swimmer's failure to follow safety instructions, pool rules or reasonable directions, or from risks outside my reasonable control. This does not exclude or limit any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Parents/guardians remain responsible for providing accurate medical information and for supervising children before and after lessons.
6. Weather & Pool Closures
- Lessons may need to be cancelled or rescheduled due to unsafe weather conditions, pool closures, maintenance or other circumstances outside of my control.
- Where I need to cancel a lesson, the lesson will be rescheduled or credited.
- Safety will always take priority over completing a lesson.
7. Missed Lessons
- Missed lessons due to personal scheduling conflicts are subject to the cancellation policy above.
- Make-up lessons are not guaranteed and are dependent on availability.
- Make-up lessons must be arranged in advance.
8. Lesson Times
- Please arrive on time and be prepared to enter the pool at your scheduled time.
- Lessons will be conducted according to the agreed duration.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for collecting children promptly after their lesson.
9. Respect & Conduct
- A respectful, supportive and comfortable environment is expected from both swimmers and parents/guardians.
- Disrespectful, aggressive or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.
- I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue lessons where behaviour creates a safety concern or prevents the lesson from taking place effectively.
10. Policy Flexibility
I understand that unexpected situations can happen. While these policies are in place to protect lesson availability and ensure fairness to all clients, genuine circumstances will always be considered with reasonable discretion.
My goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable and professional swimming experience while maintaining clear expectations for everyone.
